Robbie Savage

Good evening, you lovely people!

So it's a pretty funny story actually... There was this really handsome footballer and basically he took part in Strictly Come Dancing and I kind of fell in love with him, and people often ask me,

"Why do you love Robbie Savage so much?"

It all started in September 2011 when the 9th series of Strictly Come Dancing was launched and the pairings were finally announced. Most of you guys reading this will know Ola Jordan is one of my idols, and I love her to absolute pieces. It turns out that Robbie was actually partnered with Ola and that's when the beautiful pairing of  'Team Savola' was born.

Each week I watched these two gorgeous blonde bombshells dance together, it made me so happy. My personal favourite dances they did was the Boob-Grope Samba and the Reservoir Dogs Quickstep, purely for the sunglasses and pout at the end.
I didn't just love him for his dancing, there were many other reasons. His sense of humor, his unconditional love for his long, highlighted hair, and the way he made Ola smile. I think these three facts were unveiled in the It Takes Two interviews and training video's. There was this one particular time I thought Robbie was going to be hired for the L'Oreal advert as he swiped his fingers through his hair and said 'because I'm worth it.'
There was no doubting that he was the entertainment factor about this particular series; with his hip thrusts in Craig's face, his high five with Gary Speed at the end of the Jive (R.I.P x), the sliding-on-the-knees nose break, the unveil of his luminous blue shorts during the Boob-Grope Samba, the big cardboard cutout of Craig which he (and Ola) would kick a football at during the training video, him falling off the chair during training of the Paso Doble, the pout at the finale of the Reservoir Dogs Quickstep, and of course the It Takes Two episode when he wore the sunglasses and smiles at the camera with Ola. All of these prove he was the entertainment factor, and although he was, he did grow at becoming a dancer every week, and you could really see him improving. He didn't let the judges knock him down, he got straight into the following week and began to prove them wrong - and as Alesha said, he is definitely a ''Ballroom Boy!''

There's another side to him I really love too, it's the fact he has time for his fans. He thanked them every week on It Takes Two for voting them through to dance again, he tweeted them back when he should have been training. And the most important thing for me is that he taught me to never give up no matter how tough times got. One of his best friends and former footballing colleague, Gary Speed, unfortunately passed away on 27-November-2011, which was a Sunday, and Robbie was still in Strictly so he had to mourn over the loss of Gary and still train, which I thought he handled so amazingly. His dream for that week was to make it to the semi finals for Gary, but unfortunately he didn't make it. But that doesn't matter, because I, as well as all of his other fans, knew that Gary was looking down on him, proudly smiling and thanking him for all the
laughs he gave him when he was still alive. R.I.P Gary Speed. ♡ He's so proud of you, Robbie!

When Strictly finished, Robbie actually followed me on Twitter, which meant so, so much to me as I'd loved him ever since Strictly started. He's Tweeted me a few times before, but him following me just made my year. Ever since then, we've tweeted and direct messaged each other quite a lot. He's sometimes even replied to my Tweets which I didn't even tag him in which is so surreal, and I am SO grateful!

I also entered a competition to win a signed Robbie shirt from Grass Roots Football, and I won! It's now sitting in my wardrobe in all it's glory, and knowing he's touched it just makes me freaking melt. :')

I've had over 70 tweets and 30 direct messaged from him, but I promise you, nothing prepared me for this...
Robbie rang my mobile on the 23rd July 2012! I won't go into too much detail of the conversation as it's quite long winded and personal, but we spoke about Ola, Football and Twitter over the duration of about 3 minutes, which was probably one of the best 3 minutes of my life. I cried for the rest of the day/night, which was embarrassing but I just couldn't help it.

So, there you go. There's why I love Robbie Savage. The dancing, the videos, the humor, the tweets, everything. Every little bit just adds up to why I love him. Sorry for rambling, but I've had so many people ask why I love him so much and thought this would be the easiest way to express my love for him.

And Robbie, if you're reading this, thank you for letting me support you throughout these 2 years and I hope I can continue to support you until forever. Thank you for all the contact we've had and the laughs you've given me on the many occasions, and well done for staying strong through the hard times. :) I really hope to meet you soon!

Thanks for reading. :)
